The Letter I
Children are learning their letters...Last week we learned the letter I which was picked up easily on the first day. Please have your child at home write the letter I. To remind them how to write it we say line down, line on top and line on bottom. We also discussed things that start with the letter I such as Igloo, Ice, Island. Please also go over A-H so they do not forget. Because of the short week we will not be learning a new letter this week but will do some reviews of letters that we have mastered and practice sheets.

Happy Halloween!
Please be safe and check your children's candy before they eat it...Anything unwrapped should be thrown out and for little ones anything that may be a choking hazard get rid of i.e. jawbreakers. Unfortunately no one showed for our play date but with Nelson and the older boys home we all had a blast.

- Vacation payments are due the Friday before the daycare or your family goes on vacation.
Hurricane Earl
**POLICY UPDATES AND CHANGES**
- This will be the last month juice and wipes will be needed at the beginning of the month. If you haven't done so already please bring in this month's supplies.
- Our new business hours are 7:30am-6:00pm. Though everyone may have different pickup and drop off times you will not be penalized if you pick up your child later than agreed before 6pm. Late charges will apply after the 15 minute grace period. (This means you have until 6:15pm before you receive a late fee). I would appreciate if you are picking up later than your regular time that you let me know if advance when able.
- As you notice our doors are open in the morning. After 9:30am the doors are locked for security reasons. Breakfast is not served after this time.
- Silly Bands are not allowed at the daycare. Children have been breaking them and leaving on the fall which poses a choking hazard to our younger children. I also have found older children chewing on them.

I wanted to thanks those of you who contributed to donating a meal to Tre's family while their mother was recouping from surgery. I know after I had Nathan it was a blessing to have friends and family prepare meals. Tre's mother Millie and family appreciate it and thank you from the bottom of their hearts!

Book Drive...
To continue our giving for the summer we are holding a book drive for the whole month of August.
Read to Grow is a Connecticut nonprofit that builds children's literacy beginning at birth. They are a statewide nonprofit organization that connects with parents in the hospital setting and prepares them to take an active role in their child's literacy development from day one. To help parents create a language-rich environment inwhich children can develop those critical early skills, they provide books to families and to the program that serve them.
The books are given to children from individuals families and in local schools, child care centers, community programs, health care centers and hospitals. The children are always delight to receive them. For many, the book or books they receive from Read to Grow may be the first they have ever owned. The books for kids program at read to grow distributes an average of 1,500 new and gently used book per week to child who may otherwise not have their own books.
Please donate a new or gently used book anytime during the month of August at our door!!! Thanks for your support!
