This will be our first annual toy cleanup at the daycare. I'm brimming with toys and with the arrival of Nathan and Aiden's birthday there are sure to be more in the future. I will be cleaning out a bunch of things and there will be a piled of toys by the bins that children can take home. Daycare News....PLEASE READ!

In about 2-3 weeks the daycare will be closed in order to replace the furnace. The job takes the whole day and during this time there will be no hot water and heat. I will let everyone know what day this will happen so that you can make care arrangements for your children in advance. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Back in Action

Now that the daycare is back in full swing I would like to start some educational curriculum with the children again. This time we will have an hour or so of project based on colors, numbers, sizes and shapes, letters and sounds... We have started some of this curriculum already and would love if parents would encourage children to rely colors and numbers back to them on a daily basis as repetition helps.

I would ask that each child bring in a composition notebook (black and white), a box of crayons and a small glue.. Everyday completed worksheets and projects will be put into there notebook. These will be left in there bins so that parents can see there progress everyday and ask questions at home with there children of what they have learned. I may also have weekend assignments where the notebooks can be taken home over the weekend and complete projects will be due when they return to daycare the following week.

Scholastics are in and orders are due by on March 12th

Well all things considered my first day back is going well with just Tre, Aiden and Nathan...Still trying to coordinate schedules.. Next week RJ and Tristan will be back and our old friend Karissa and little sister Lila will be coming part-time also!!! Interesting enough I've received a lot of inquiries while the daycare was closed for new clients.

Thanks to everyone and their well wishes and gifts..We are looking forward to the SPRING and planting in our garden again and just getting out!

Was thinking about creating daycare t-shirts with our logo on them. This would be great for field trips or for those who would have their child wear this like a uniform everyday so they don't have to get their child's regular clothing dirty. I'm looking into pricing and I hope to keep it low-cost.

What's going on....

I'm currently 36 weeks today and I have weekly appointment now to the doctor. I have begun showing signs of getting nearer to having the baby and I've pretty much let everyone know what is going on.

My next appointment is next Tuesday and technically the last day the daycare will be open in next Friday the 29th. Obviously no supplies will be needed for February. I will let everyone know as soon as our little guy has arrived and will contact each parent to when their child will be able to return.

Substitute APPROVED!

Just received word from the state that of December 31, 2009 Nelson has received approval to be a substitute at the daycare. "Substitute" means a person approved in writing by the Commissioner who may assume the provider's responsibilities in the provider's absence, and who meets the same qualifications as a provider. Nelson has gone through the required medical, fingerprinting and CPR/first aide course.

What's going on!

It was a beautiful day and I was happy to get out of the house. Who knows how many days we have left to do that. The kids had a great time at the Trumbull mall playground. Though it seems by the end the kids were overly exhausted and grumpy.

Tuesday December 8th I have a doctor's appointment at 9:45am.

We are having a Holiday playdate on Wednesday December 23rd. There will be a grab bag so please bring in something wrapped that is gender neutral of no more than $5.

The daycare is closed on December 24 & 25th for Christmas & Christmas Eve.
