I have recently have been discussing good and bad touches with the children. I have always thought it was important at this age and have also brought these conversations with my own children. Here is a dialog of which we have discussed:
-Our bodies belong to us and no one should touch you unless you say it's ok (but of course mommy/daddy/grandma etc does without asking because they love us)
-We have private parts that belong to us (I use the correct term: penis in these discussions).
-No one is supposed to touch our private parts except for mommy and my doctor.
-It someone other than our mommy or doctor ask to touch our private parts we say loudly NO! And then tell mommy or daddy about it even if they tell you not to tell. They will not get upset if you tell them.
-If someone touches us without asking you tell mommy or daddy.
-We shouldn't hit anyone.
-If we want to hug or kiss someone we should ask first.
My friend Felicia from My Tickled Pink Photography will be coming on Wednesday September 8th to take pictures of the children at the daycare. Please have your children come dressed in something you would love to see them in photos. If you want them to change clothing afterwards just let me know.
