Projects for the week...

Monday
9 Puzzle Pieces
Fine Motor-Glue 9 puzzle pieces around the number 9. Color the number 9.
Cognitive-Talk about the different shapes of the puzzle pieces. How do they fit together to form a puzzle
Library-"Numbers to 10" by Suzanne Edwards & "The Tremendous Number 10: A Birthday Number Book" by Kitty Higgins

Tuesday
9 Fish
Fine Motor-Glue the confetti onto the fish with the numbers 1,3,6 and 8. Color the remaining fish.
Math-Have the children count the fish
Cognitive-Say a number and have the children put their finger on that number.

Wednesday
Father's Day Bookmark
Fine Motor-Glue the die-cut pieces onto the bookmark.
Language-Discuss with the children the meaning of Father's Day.
Library-"A Perfect Father's Day" by Eve Bunting & "Just Me and My Dad" by Mercer Mayer

Thursday
Father's Day Footprints Poem
Language-Read the poem to the children.
Fine Motor-Let the children decorate the poem with the footprints.
Math-how may footprints did each child glue around their poem?
Library-"The Best Father of All" by Peter Horn

Friday
Father's Day Card
Fine Motor-Have the children color the father and the award. Blue the father and the award onto the foam card.
Cognitive-The children can give the card to their dads on Father's Day. Talk about the meaning of "giving".
Library-"The Secret Father's Day Present" by Andrew Clements
