This Week's Projects...

Monday
SANDCASTLE
Fine Motor-Glue the s and onto the sandcastle. Glue the sandcastle onto the construction paper.
Science-What holds a sandcastle together? Why do we add water to a sandcastle?
Drama/Role Play-Pretend you are at the beach making a sandcastle. Would you make one with a friend? Pretend a big wave came in and washed your sandcastle away.
Library-“Watch Me Build A Sandcastle” by Jack Otten

Tuesday
SUNFLOWER
Fine Motor-Crinkle and blue the yellow material onto the white round disk. Glue some sunflower seeds in the middle of the sunflower.
Texture-What does the yellow material feel like? Are the sunflower seeds hard or soft?

Wednesday
ANTS AT A PICNIC
Language-Read the ant poem to the children.
Fine Motor-Have the children glue the ant poem onto the paper plate. Stick 2 black dots on the paper plate and add legs and a head to creat an ant.

Thursday
JACK ON THE BEANSTALK
Fine Motor-Color the beanstalk and Jack. Glue the beanstalk and Jack onto the construction paper
Cognitive-How high does the beanstalk go?
Library-“Jack and the Beanstalk” by Carol Ottolenghi

Friday
GIANT PUPPET
Fine Motor-Color the giant. Glue the finger holder onto the back of the giant to create a finger puppet.
Gross Motor-Have the child walk/stomp around the room like a giant.
Cognitive-When you read the story “jack and the Beanstalk” have the children hold up their finger puppet when they hear the word “giant”
